a vacancy exists for an Planner (12-Month Fixed Term Contract) reporting to the Superintendent: Asset Management. The successful incumbents will be in charged with responsibility to develop short-, medium- and long­ term plans that will improve the availability, reliability, and operability of equipment for the plant equipment in their area of responsibility, then carrying out the planning of the maintenance activities to the scheduling stage by identifying all required resources to complete the activity.

Key Performance Areas:

• Comply with all standards and provide input into training and accident investigations. Assist in identifying HSE hazards and implementing mitigation measures.
• Work constructively with other departments to increase team effectiveness.
• Create work orders, determine scopes of work, and review asset lifecycle plans to ensure alignment with maintenance tactics. Review the primary maintenance forecast, plans, and items.
• Develop failure analyses, component tracking, and warranty management programs. Recommend maintenance strategies based on analytic findings.
• Analyze current work practices and recommend maintenance improvement initiatives to enhance production, safety, and cost efficiency.
• Effectively control activities within the section.

Requirements and experience:

• A 3-Year National Vocational Trade Diploma L3/N3/S4 (Mechanical or Electrical) with at least 7 years of experience in a mining environment or large organization, OR
• Grade 12 with a minimum E in English and 10 years of Mechanical or Electrical experience in a mining environment or large organization.
• A valid Code B Driver’s License.
• A Police Certificate of Conduct not older than six months (a record does not automatically disqualify candidates).

• Strong administrative capabilities.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of RUL mine operations.
• Good computer skills (MS Projects, MS Office, SAP).
