PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To deliver exceptional beverage service to guests, ensuring a memorable and world-class experience. This role involves preparing and serving drinks according to established standards, managing bar operations, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and enhancing revenue through effective upselling.

Key Performance Areas:

• Welcome customers/guests and monitor the overall experience to ensure the service offered creates an unforgettable, unique experience.
• "Own and Live the O&L persona, anchored in “caring, passionate, authentic.”
• Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, including cocktails, according to established standards.
• Take orders and promote beverage specials as per established standards.
• Assist with the ordering, supply, and stock management of the bar.
• Prepare mise-en-place and set up bar equipment according to standards.
• Maintain product knowledge to effectively upsell and maximize revenue.
• Monitor operating supplies to minimize spoilage and wastage.
• Conduct accurate opening and closing stock counts daily.
• Ensure proper handover between morning and evening shifts.
• Rotate stock in the bar when new stock is issued.
• Ensure the proper presentation and display of premium liquors, with defined quantities on every shelf.
• Keep all bar outlets and equipment clean, tidy, and operational.
• Monitor the cashiering function of the outlet in compliance with SOPs after every shift.
• Ensure that the billing procedures and payments are accurate and adhered to.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Grade 12 with English and Mathematics.
• 2 years’ experience as a barman/bartender.
• Computer Literate (MS Office)
• Beverage/Wine knowledge.
• Passionate about mixology, reproducing or creating cocktails taking into account the seasons, events, tastes and trends.
• Knowledge of MICROS will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Cost of Sales and Stocktaking
