Role Overview:

Sonop Farming at Noordoewer, is seeking a skilled Financial Manager responsible for implementing financial strategies that align with company objectives, managing financial risks, and enhancing process efficiency. Key duties include overseeing financial accuracy, cash flow management, tax compliance, and cost management. The role also involves budgeting, financial analysis, and collaboration with the board and stakeholders to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, the Financial Manager leads the finance team, fostering growth and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the board and finance team to implement financial strategies that align with company objectives, adapting them as needed to respond to market conditions, while overseeing the effective management of financial risks.
• Monitor and analyse costs related to inventory and fuel consumption, develop cost-saving strategies, and provide detailed financial reports to management.
• Create and manage comprehensive budgets across departments, update forecasts, and utilize data for strategic decision-making.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial documents, prepare reports for internal stakeholders, and manage monthly and yearly closing processes.
• Oversee tax compliance, conduct regular reconciliations, and ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards.
• Manage daily cash flows and maintain accurate asset records.
• Lead the finance team towards achieving excellence and encourage professional growth.
• Initiate and lead projects to enhance financial processes and systems efficiency.
• Manage relationships with auditors and other key stakeholders, and negotiate favourable terms.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; professional accounting certification preferred.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in financial management, preferably in agriculture.

Required Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in financial software and Excel.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proven leadership and management abilities.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate future financial trends.

Working Conditions::

• Based in remote Noordoewer with occasional travel
• Capable of managing high-pressure periods and meeting critical deadlines.
