The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety legislation, and that Company Safety Policies & procedures are carried out within the above regions and on the relevant sites.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• National Diploma in Safety Management (3 years) / Degree advantageous
• Certified facilitator – advantageous
• Experience in preparation and presentation of Safety training
• Working knowledge of WCA, OSHA standards and compliance legislation
• At least 5–8 years’ experience in a similar position in a construction environment – advantageous
• Proven experience in thorough investigation & reporting of workplace incidents and accidents
• Experience in a road construction environment
• Previous experience working with bitumen products – advantageous
• Risk assessment and safety audit experience
• Unendorsed driver’s licence and own vehicle
• Computer literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Bilingualism, with English as one language – both written and spoken
