MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The main purpose of this role is to lead the HR Business Partners to act in direct partnership with business and functional leads to maximize performance and potential. The position is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of HR services, aligning people’s strategies with business objectives and managing the implementation of the Company’s recruitment and workforce plan.


Key Performance Areas:

  • Continuously identify unique HR business requirements and diagnose possible people management challenges.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities to attract quality talent for Swakop Uranium.
  • Compile and submit recommendations to the Head of Department – HR for the purpose of attracting and retaining talent.
  • Ensure that HR Business Partners have the necessary reports, documents, and information to deliver on their functions effectively.
  • Fulfil a coaching and mentoring role for HR Business Partners and line management.
  • Ensure company compliance with all labour practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Manage relations between line management and the union at Workplace Forum level to prevent escalation to higher forums such as the BEC.
  • Partner with senior HR colleagues in specialist functions to implement HR strategic plans, projects, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with key departmental stakeholders to ensure that HR projects are properly communicated and implemented.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to operational risk factors and statutory requirements affecting the business.
  • Actively identify risks and possible gaps, propose mitigating actions where appropriate, and implement necessary measures.
  • Prepare and control the annual sectional budget.

Requirements and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or BTech degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related Social Sciences field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an HR Generalist function or environment, of which at least 3 years should be at a supervisory or managerial level.
  • Experience in project management will be an added advantage.
  • Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.
