MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To co-ordinate the exploration activities within Swakop Uranium exploration license areas to meet business expectations.

Key Performance Areas:

• Provide input into the development of exploration plans for each prospect area.
• Carry out the exploration plan and ensure reporting as required.
• Maintain and review the geological data on an ongoing basis to ensure that information is up to date.
• Support the implementation of specific strategies within the individual projects to minimise the exposure of safety related risk to employees from radiation, disease or injury.
• Oversees contractors and consultants to ensure work is completed safely and to the required standards.
• Implement the Environmental and Radiation management plan.
• Execute the exploration plan for investigations to achieve project deliveries.
• Provide progress reports on each target to satisfy feasibility report deliverables.
• Work with external and internal specialists to identify, source and justify the implementation of new technologies.

Requirements and experience:

• BSc. Honours Degree in Geology or similar qualification in Geology.
• 5 years’ experience in Exploration Geology of which 2 years should be at supervisory level.
• Knowledge various 3D geological modeling software such as Datamine, Vulcan, Gemcom etc. as well as GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Registration with SACNASP or similar professional body will be an added advantage.
• Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License (4x4 driving know how an added advantage)
