Job Specifications:

The incumbent will report to Senior Process Engineer or Operations Manager and be accountable for:

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Legal, Safety, Health and Environmental Compliance as well as promoting a safety culture, systems and design in the area of responsibility.
• Lead by example through living the company purpose and values.
• Ensuring effective plant operation processes through root cause analysis, monitoring, interpreting data and implementing optimal solutions.
• Identify and develop process control improvement and needs.
• Analyze and implement continuous improvement of projects.
• Setting optimum operating parameters and provide technical input into training manuals.
• Maintaining and upgrading metal accounting system to ensure compliance.
• Implementing Process Safety Management activities in area of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor Degree or Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering/Process Engineering.
• 3 years’ relevant work experience in a Hydro-, Pyrometallurgical or Minerals Processing plant.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Package).
• Experience with OSIsoft PI will be beneficial.
• Previous experience in Milling & Flotation and Tailings Facilities will be advantageous
• Technical aptitude - able to understand complex metallurgical information, process improvement and control strategies.
• Good cognitive and analytical skills for identifying process shortfalls, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
• Personal accountability and drive for results.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure, excellent organizational and communication skills written and oral.
• Code B driver’s license.
