PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To execute all maintenance functions of port machinery, operating equipment, and systems within operations on cargo and container handling equipment and port facilities. The position reports to the Supervisor: Technical Services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform maintenance on core cargo and container handling equipment, electrical, electronics, mechanical, hydraulic systems and port facilities, including equipment elevators.
• Prepare drawings and sketches for parts to be manufactured or reshaped.
• Repair and test equipment and or install machined parts or products.
• Ensure adherence to operational requirements and maintenance activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Promote sound customer relations.
• Provide effective team leadership to staff.
• Perform relevant administrative duties.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• National Vocational Certificate Level 3 or equivalent qualification/ recognized Trade Diploma in Electrical Millwright field.
• A minimum of four (4) years relevant experience, of which a minimum 2 years should have been within electrical and mechanical environment.
• Knowledge of computerised maintenance programs/ systems preferably Millwright Field N3 would be an added advantage.
• Must be self-driven and possesses a strong technical know-how.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Relationship building, logically thinking and computer literacy.
• Strong leadership, decision making, teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Code BE driver’s license.
