PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Supervise and control various aspects of the production process to ensure optimal utilization of manpower and equipment, reaching optimal productivity levels at all times and meeting set targets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Plan, organise, and control the production process to achieve optimal operational results.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to subordinates to ensure production efficiency.
• Control usage of cost items including consumables, packaging materials, protective clothing, and overtime.
• Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, BRC standards, health and safety rules, FIFO principles, and company policies.
• Ensure products are processed according to company and customer specifications.
• Act proactively in preventative maintenance and report equipment irregularities and failures to the technical team.
• Ensure equipment is handled correctly and damaged or sub-standard equipment is replaced.
• Monitor, calculate, and report production performance based on efficiency and yield.
• Ensure production quantities align with the Fish Utilisation Plan (FUP).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 with a Certificate in Food, Lean Manufacturing, or related fields.
• Knowledge of BRC, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and HACCP family of standards.
• Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
