PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To execute minor electrical maintenance as well as to assist the artisans with the execution of their duties. The position reports directly to the Artisan: Electrical Millwright.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
• Assist with repairing of bogeys, beams, equipment and lifting tackles.
• Perform general electrical maintenance of mobile cranes, reach stackers and other mechanical lifting equipment.
• Assist with maintenance and overhauling of small electrical appliances in the workshop.
• Strip and assemble all medium voltage motors.
• Provide effective team leadership to staff.
• Perform relevant administrative duties.
• Ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure safekeeping of materials and tools and perform any other Ad-hoc duties as and when required.
• Adhere to safety, health and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• National Vocational Certificate Level 2 (NQF Level 2) or equivalent.
• Two (2) years relevant experience, of which a minimum of 1 year should have been within a port/maritime environment.
• Must be self-driven and possess strong technical know-how.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to details and deadlines.
• Relationship building and logical thinking.
• Code BE driver’s license.
