Job Description:

To direct and manage Alternate Channels resources, in line with the Banks short- and long-term plan, policies and values with a view to generate the highest return on capital employed, promoting customer loyalty by providing superior customer experiences and identifying and promoting new business, to ensure future business and footprint growth without introducing unmanageable risks.


Are you someone who can:

  • Develop and implement Channel strategies covering Sales, Service, Non-Interest Revenue, funded income, and overall profitability.
  • Manage and minimize Channel costs to optimise the cost-to-income ratio.
  • Present business information including revenue streams, financial reports, and performance dashboards.
  • Manage and support the team in driving end-to-end Cash Plus agent activities including sales, recruitment, onboarding, training, setup, and after-sales service.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and operational support to agents, including agent suspension processes where required.
  • Identify and execute strategies to improve Channel performance and achieve sales and acquisition targets.
  • Drive initiatives to achieve 100% activation of new-to-bank customers.
  • Conduct customer and competitor research to improve service delivery and channel performance.
  • Drive Channel footprint expansion in collaboration with frontline sales teams.
  • Manage the implementation of new acquisitions through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage product distribution and cross-selling to existing and prospective clients.
  • Develop and implement customer acquisition and retention strategies for targeted segments and markets.
  • Handle escalated customer enquiries and complaints in line with service standards.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements within the Channel.
  • Ensure agency compliance with operational processes and risk procedures through robust compliance programmes.
  • Align and embed compliance training across CashPlus operations.
  • Drive career development, succession planning, and capability building within the Channel.
  • Promote and model organisational values across the Channel team.
  • Provide direct reports with the tools, training, and support required to meet performance standards.
  • Provide regular feedback and performance coaching to team members.
  • Facilitate best practice sharing across the Channel.
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions to build business understanding and team development.
  • Hold Channel staff accountable for meeting agreed performance targets and standards.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking operations, cash management, or branch/channel management.
  • Experience in compliance monitoring, cash flow management, banking relationships, and daily cash operations.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a related field.
  • Project Management certification such as Prince2 or PMP.

Core Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of cash handling procedures, reconciliation, and vault management.
  • Strategic thinking, negotiation, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks including AML and KYC.
  • Ability to interpret financial dashboards, operational KPIs, and risk reports.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify cash discrepancies.
  • Ability to drive profitability, optimise cost-to-income ratios, and design acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks across departments.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with banks, vendors, and auditors.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop staff.
