Job Specification

• Assist with providing technical support to the Namibian management team across various business units
• Check, manipulate, and analyse volumes of data and draw conclusions from analyses
• Generate actuarial reports on various technical issues periodically
• Translate actuarial concepts into client-friendly terminology
• Assist with financial reporting: preparation of metrics for published, regulatory, and internal reporting with supporting analysis and commentary
• Perform quarterly actuarial valuations for the Life Company
• Assist with preparation of forecasts and business planning
• Provide product support across three Life Business Units, including support for new product launches
• Support delivery of relevant ad-hoc projects as they arise

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Namibian citizenship
• University degree specializing in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics and/or Economics
• Registered student of an actuarial association with progress made towards actuarial qualification (6-9 exams passed)
• Client focused
• Ability to make balanced and sound recommendations and decisions
• Ability to perceive, interpret and translate information to competently perform processes and tasks of varying complexity
• Self-motivated and able to work accurately under tight time constraints
