Job Specification

• Assists with providing technical support to the Namibian management team (across the various business units)
• Checks, manipulates and analyses volumes of data and draws conclusions from the analyses
• Generates actuarial reports on various technical issues on a periodic basis
• Translates actuarial concepts into client-friendly terminology
• Financial Reporting: Assist with preparation of financial metrics for published, regulatory and internal reporting with appropriate supporting analysis and commentary
• Perform quarterly actuarial valuations for the Life Company
• Assist with preparation of Forecasts and Business Planning
• Product Support: Provide support for products across the three Life Business Units including when new products are launched
• Ad-hoc projects: Support the delivery of relevant project objectives, as and when these arise

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Namibian citizenship
• University degree specializing in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics and/or Economics
• Registered student of an actuarial association with some progress having been made towards achieving the actuarial qualification (i.e. 6-9 exams passed)
• Client focused
• Ability to make balanced and sound recommendations and decisions
• Ability to perceive, interpret and translate information in order to competently perform processes and tasks at various levels of complexity within the organization
• Self-motivated individual who is able to work accurately under tight time constraints
