Job Description

To manage and coordinate the provision of municipal services and development intervention in the peri-urban area and satellite suburbs with a view of improving the quality of life of residents.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Manage the Division and job activities of the staff members in the division.
• Coordinate and manage the provision of municipal services in the peri-urban area and satellite suburbs.
• Guide and manage the implementation of development projects, policies, and strategies in the peri-urban area and satellite suburbs.
• Manage the decentralization of functions from the head office to the peri-urban area and satellite suburbs.
• Oversee compliance to national laws, policies, regulations, procedures, and development agendas.
• Lead the carrying out of research and undertaking of activities aimed at improving the quality of life in the peri-urban area and satellite suburbs.

Skills, Experience & Education

• Bachelor Degree in Development Planning, Development Management, Urban and Regional Planning, Project Management, Community Development or closely related development field..
• Master Degree will serve as an added advantage.
• Development Planning, Development Management, Urban and Regional Planning, Project Management and Community Development EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Five (5) years relevant job experience
• Driver’s license (Code B or BE)
• Project Management, Contract Management, Geographical Information Systems, Environment Management and Public Participation.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Local Authorities Act; Town planning laws, environmental Laws, Labour laws, other relevant laws, relevant policies, procedures, guidelines; project management; contract management, budgeting, research, leadership, coordination, public participation approaches, community dynamics and conflict management.

SKILLS:

• Complex problem-solving; critical thinking; decision making; analytical; interpersonal; leadership; crisis management; time management; computer literacy, verbal, written and communication

General

• Basic salary: Minimum-N$591,360.00 - Maximum N$695,760.00
• Housing Allowance: Minimum -N$230,604.00 - Maximum N$278,304
• Vehicle Allowance: N$20,428.00
